With over 25 years of international experience, Kevin Roland advises global executive and government clientele on strategic priorities, to include building and executing government relations, public affairs, strategic communications, issues and crisis response, political and economic risk, and market entry and expansion efforts across all continents.
Background
Kevin’s clients have included global leaders in energy, technology, industrial, finance, transport, infrastructure, hospitality, entertainment, and retail sectors, as well as executive offices of sovereign entities and state-owned institutions, with a particular focus on the EMEA region.
Kevin established advisory firm Teneo’s Middle East office in Dubai in 2012, led global client teams across the firm’s Strategy and Risk Advisory practices, and served as COO of Teneo International. Kevin previously served with distinction in the Foreign Service of the United States Department of State. His front-line diplomatic roles traversed issues of political affairs, trade, investment, economic and energy policy, and counter terrorism, serving in U.S. Embassies in Jordan, South Africa, Egypt, and Iraq, as well as the U.S. Consulate General in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In Washington, Kevin served as Staff Assistant to Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs William J. Burns, traveling extensively to Middle East and global capitals and engaging on top U.S. policy and national security priorities.
Kevin is an Arabic speaker and alumnus of the Foreign Service Institute’s Advanced Arabic Language Field School in Tunis, Tunisia, and is the recipient of multiple State Department Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Kevin worked in finance and banking in Baltimore, Maryland.
Kevin received a B.A. in International Studies and Economics from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland.
