Background

Sam brings more than two decades of global leadership in sports and entertainment, with deep expertise in commercial strategy, sponsorship, and venue development. As the first full-time employee and President of OVG International at Oak View Group, he led the company’s expansion across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, driving sponsorship and premium revenue for owned and operated arenas as well as strategic third-party partnerships. He spearheaded landmark transactions, including the 15-year naming rights agreement for Manchester’s Co-op Live, and worked across high-profile properties such as AS Roma, Everton, EF Cycling, Birmingham City FC, Japan National Stadium and Real Betis.

Previously, as Chief Commercial Officer of the ABB Formula E World Championship, Sam built and led a high-performing commercial team that delivered fivefold revenue growth in just three seasons and played a key role in scaling the series to a $600 million valuation. He also led the first-ever naming rights partnership for an FIA-regulated motorsport championship. Sam began his career in sales and marketing with the Angels Baseball Club and Mighty Ducks Hockey Club following his graduation from the University of South Carolina.
