Throughout his career, Ruud has built and led European public affairs and advisory operations for major global firms. He established and led Teneo’s Brussels office, building it into a premier practice serving Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 companies across EU trade policy, market access, competition, and digital regulation. He also served as Chief Marketing Officer for Cigna Healthcare International, leading global brand and marketing strategy for one of the world’s largest health services companies.

Most recently as Chief Client Officer at Burson Brussels, Ruud advised multinational clients on high-profile regulatory proceedings and EU trade defence instruments, including anti-dumping proceedings and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR). His expertise is particularly deep in energy, environment, and healthcare – placing him at the center of the most commercially consequential regulatory issues shaping the European single market today.
