Carsten ​helps companies and ​investors anticipate and manage ​the impact ​of ​geopolitics ​on ​their ​businesses. He ​has ​particular experience in scenario ​planning exercises ​with ​boards and C-suite clients. ​He is also a regular ​public ​speaker and ​a ​commentator for ​a ​variety of ​media outlets.

Prior to ​joining ​Consello, ​Carsten ​co-launched and ​managed a global geopolitical advisory ​service for ​consulting ​firm ​Teneo ​in London and helped set up ​the ​firm’s ​Brussels office. Earlier, he was ​an ​analyst in ​the ​Europe practice of Eurasia Group and worked ​for ​a member ​of ​the ​German ​Bundestag.

Carsten ​holds a ​doctorate in politics from the University of ​Oxford ​(St Antony’s ​College) and ​a ​master’s ​degree ​from the London School of Economics. ​He ​teaches ​geopolitics at ​Sciences ​Po ​Paris ​and ​is ​an Affiliated ​Researcher at ​the Bennett ​School of ​Public Policy, University of Cambridge.
